The New Orleans Saints, home of such offensive stars as Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, Deuce McAllister, and Marques Colston. I began following this team last year when they acquired Reggie Bush. I liked Reggie, what can I say. Thus, I began watching the team play. I knew nothing about the Saints prior to last year. I soon found, I rather liked their explosive offense and style of playing. Not to mention they were winning games, throw in all the hype; and, I couldn't help becoming a fan.
They had a pretty good season last year. Finishing the regular season with a record of 10-6. A new high-powered offense that ranked 5th in scoring caught the attention of many people. Not to mention, the New Orleans Saints' offense ranked 1st in yards per game last season. Thats right, FIRST. To top it all off, the Saints were one game away from the Super Bowl; when, they suffered a disappointing loss to Chicago in the NFC Conference Championship game. This left us Saints' fans eagerly waiting for the 2007 season.
The 2007 season is finally here and our beloved Saints are 0-2! 0-2, damn't! Instead of first, they are 16th in yards per game. They are 25th in total points scored. That is way too close to the bottom for me. They were completely blown away by Peyton Manning; then, in week 2 they lost to Tampa Bay. It wasn't even close. I don't know what to do. My team is not playing like they are supposed to. However, I am a true fan; and, I know it's early. That is why I'm focusing my anger on writing this, as opposed to dropping the team.
In conclusion, will somebody please inform New Orleans that the season has begun; and, it's time to start playing football. Maybe it will hit them in their home opener this week, against Tennessee.
